She’s My Hero- May

It’s time to meet Tiffany who is representing May in our She’s My Hero Calendar. Tiffany is a 34 year old, hardworking, independent, single mom of two sweet sons! She is also a full time RN who works really hard taking care of others. Tiffany is determined to raise her boys to become incredible people. We love her unbreakable spirit and determination!  When times were tough, Tiffany found strength in a stranger with her own inspiring story. Her hero is also a single mother who has been through a lot, persisted, and came out on top. We are so grateful to Vanity Salon for styling this strong woman.

At the She’s My Hero Calendar Launch Party, you’ll get to see some of the beautiful and professional rentals from Eventworks. We can’t wait for you to see the lounge area also from their company and Silent Auction at the event! What should you wear to the event at Boone Hall Plantation? We are planning for business casual, but you are most welcome to come exactly as you are. Feel free to match the event colors which are: amethyst, plum, and silver. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, GET THEM HERE.

She is a diver with the nickname of Ducky the Diver because she was born on Donald Duck’s birthday. She absolutely LOVES animals especially her 2 dogs! Finally, here’s a hint about her hero… she is a Charleston local that you’ve probably seen frequently on tv or in the news.

She’s My Hero- January

Back in February, we announced the She’s My Hero Contest to raise funds and awareness for the Center for Women, and coming up on October 10th, we will reveal the winners’ photos at the She’s My Hero Calendar Launch Party. Make sure to get your tickets to celebrate woman and help raise funds to support the Center for Women at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shes-my-hero-calendar-launch-party-tickets-49132726307

Between now and the launch party, we’ll be introducing you to each of the women in the calendar. But because we love surprises, we will NOT be revealing who their heroes are nor the selected calendar image. Even the ladies in the calendar haven’t seen the photos, and we can’t wait to see their expressions when they see it for the first time at the event!!! Now onto the first introduction…

Meet Jessica. She will be representing January in our calendar. She loved to help sick children feel better. She volunteered by dressing up as Wonder Woman and visiting children in local hospitals. She was also a part of Pinups for a Cause. Unfortunately, Jessica was tragically taken from us in a car accident not long after we photographed her. We honor Jessica and her desire to encourage others and help make their lives better.

We’re so thankful to Sarah Pearson Hair & Makeup Artistry for styling Jessica’s hair and makeup.

She’s My Hero Calendar Launch Party

It’s time to celebrate! Get your tickets NOW for our BIG event to raise funds and awareness for the Center for Women.   The She’s My Hero Calendar will be revealed at the Launch Party on Wednesday, October 10th from 6-9pm at Boone Hall Plantation. For updates, information, and  tickets visit our Facebook event page. We are still looking for sponsors for the big calendar reveal and silent auction donations. Contact us to be a part of the She’s My Hero Project.

mellBella is constantly evolving and working to become better artists, photographers, and community members. We started in 2010 by doing a few boudoir sessions under our brother company, Richard Bell Photography.  We decided to form our own feminine brand and launched  mellBella Photography in January 2011. Since then we’ve moved locations, added space & sets, photographed hundreds of women,  partnered and supported local businesses and non profits, and so much more. This year, we even drastically changed our hair from the above photo… Wanda cut it all off  and went super short and funky. But Mell Bell changed from blue to purply pink or “aggressive fuchsia.”

Even though some things change, our goal is still the same. To coach and cheer on our clients on a journey from from self conscious to confident, from embarrassed to empowered. To create art specifically for the eyes of only a few people. To fight pornography with images that celebrate and honor the subject.
