She’s My Hero- April

Oh hello, April! Meet Tiffany who is representing April in our She’s My Hero Calendar.  Tiffany is one STRONG woman, and she works as a truck driver! This girl certainly holds her own in a mostly male dominated field. You can see her strength and confidence the moment you meet her! We love passionate personality and warm smile. Here’s a hint about her hero– She inspired a really fun and colorful style for her shoot… think I heart the 80s!!! A huge thank you to Sarah Pearson Hair & Makeup Artistry for rocking the 80s hair and makeup styling. Totally outrageous!

Did you know that you can purchase copies of the She’s My Hero Calendar at the Launch Party? We’re keeping the photos TOP Secret until the launch party, and even the ladies in the calendar haven’t seen them. Remember ALL proceeds from calendar sales go to the Center for Women. At the launch party, Dashi will be serving up their delicious Asian and Latin cuisines. Remember that your ticket to the Launch Party is FREE, but it is a fundraiser for the Center for Women. She’s My Hero- January

Back in February, we announced the She’s My Hero Contest to raise funds and awareness for the Center for Women, and coming up on October 10th, we will reveal the winners’ photos at the She’s My Hero Calendar Launch Party. Make sure to get your tickets to celebrate woman and help raise funds to support the Center for Women at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shes-my-hero-calendar-launch-party-tickets-49132726307

Between now and the launch party, we’ll be introducing you to each of the women in the calendar. But because we love surprises, we will NOT be revealing who their heroes are nor the selected calendar image. Even the ladies in the calendar haven’t seen the photos, and we can’t wait to see their expressions when they see it for the first time at the event!!! Now onto the first introduction…

Meet Jessica. She will be representing January in our calendar. She loved to help sick children feel better. She volunteered by dressing up as Wonder Woman and visiting children in local hospitals. She was also a part of Pinups for a Cause. Unfortunately, Jessica was tragically taken from us in a car accident not long after we photographed her. We honor Jessica and her desire to encourage others and help make their lives better.

We’re so thankful to Sarah Pearson Hair & Makeup Artistry for styling Jessica’s hair and makeup.

To celebrate women, their diversity and empowerment, mellBella Photography created the She’s My Hero Project to raise funds for the Center for Women.

Back in March for Women’s History Month, we held the She’s My Hero Contest where we asked local women to tell us who their heroes were.  The contest winners received a photoshoot from mellBella styled as their hero. Also, each winner received a gift basket filled with donations from local businesses.

She’s My Hero Project Announcement Video

It’s been a dream of ours for a long time to create a great fundraiser to celebrate and support women in our community. We didn’t want to do it alone because together we can make an even bigger difference in our world. So, we created the She’s My Hero Project to raise funds for the Center for Women. We chose the Center for Women as our charity because they truly help women succeed personally and professionally through education, skill building, networking, and much more. In addition to raising funds, we also want to raise awareness about their programs to help even more women. Check out the video below for our big announcement from our appearance on Lowcountry Live:
